It’s time for my weekly round-up of tips for better mental health! Each week I share a handful of things I’ve come across that I find interesting, intriguing and inspirational, plus I tell you about anything interesting that’s coming up on my weekly podcast, Let’s Talk About Mental Health, or just generally in terms of my work. So… let’s talk!

Hello Talkers! 👋🗣😃
The strangest thing happened last week.
I recently started thinking about changing the way I structure my week, so that I can balance everything I need to get done without working more than four days a week (since I’ve been eating into my ‘Friday day off’ time every now and then lately, and I really don’t want to!).
Here comes the strange/odd/wow bit.
I created a list of all of my tasks and also wrote down all of my 1:1 clients and their appointment frequencies as well as the usual time we meet, and it was clear to me that there was a little bit of shuffling that could done to manage my time more effectively so that I’m not focus-switching as much as I have been recently (because it slows down my productivity and I get very distracted very easily).
Usually I would feel like I had to rush to do something about this realisation immediately (probably due to 15-odd years working in the contact centre industry, where everything has to be done yesterday and there’s almost always an urgent crisis to manage), however I am very much focused on improving my patience at the moment and my intuition was telling me loud and clear to wait. So I did.
Within 48 hours, with no action on my part, two of my clients asked to change their schedule with me which freed my time up in exactly the way I was looking to do and without any additional effort on my part in terms of having to contact them, explain why I wanted to change and then negotiate a new schedule. In short, it appeared the universe had decided to do the work for me so… hooray!
The moral of the story? Sometimes you just need to let go of control and the urge to do everything immediately, and instead choose to be patient and see what happens… or, at the very least, just give it 24-48 hours before jumping into action mode so you can allow yourself some time to be more thoughtful!
So my question for you this week is: how can you be more patient and trust your intuition more? Let me know in the comments!
Now, without any further ado… greetings and salutations, and a very warm welcome to another newsletter. I hope you enjoy my quick snapshot of my favourite things this week — hopefully at least one of them will make you smile/feel inspired. Have a fantastic week!
Jeremy 🙂
PS: Eurovision is over! I am both happy and sad. Now what do I do until May?! Well done to Loreen, very happy my favourite won. And well done to all the acts, it was an amazing contest this year. Will Australia get to compete again in 2024? Let’s hope so! (Don’t even bother trying to work out why we compete in a European competition, we know it’s ridiculous and they know it’s ridiculous and none of us care because it’s fantastic!)
PPS: A reminder about my digital reflection tool that will help you to focus on your wellbeing in just 15 minutes a day! It’s only $12.50 AUD (about $9 USD) and you can click on the link below to buy it now… the good news is that it’s a ‘buy once use for forever’ kind of tool, so that makes it an absolute bargain!

Hi Jeremy – I smiled when I read your story about your schedule changing just when you needed it to, and with no effort by you needed – because the exact same thing happened to me last week as well…and like you, I’d had a want to clear my Fridays. Last week, I had two regular & seperate commitments changed – the people involved both wanted to change the time we met each week moving forward…and their times they shifted me to, fit my life & that day each week, perfectly! This resulted in my Friday cleared as well – just like I had wanted! Love it when that happens…I’m so glad it worked out for you and your Friday, as well! 🙂
Ah that’s brilliant!!! I love it when that happens! Well done to you and thank you for your kind words, much appreciated. Enjoy the rest of your week and most importantly enjoy your Friday – I know I will! 😃
Thank you – enjoy your Friday(s) as well, Jeremy! 🙂
