Hello Talkers! 👋🗣😃

Welcome to March! If you’re in the northern hemisphere then I imagine you’re seeing (or soon to see) the first signs of Spring… enjoy! If you’re here in the southern hemisphere, Autumn is just around the corner and it just happens to be one of my favourite times of the year (feel free to share your favourite in the comments below).

This week I’ve been thinking a lot about the value of trying new things. Many years ago a collective of five philosophers known as the Spice Girls told me to spice up my life, but frankly I’ve turned into much more of a routine-based person (no old age jokes, thank you!) and that means I tend to have fairly consistent days and weeks; some people may find that boring, I find it grounding and I think a lot of that has been due to spending quite a few years being all over the place and erratic thanks to my previous mental health issues and my old corporate-hamster-wheel life back in Melbourne, so now there is a real comfort in consistency.

But…! I like variety as well (it is, after all, the spice of life) and so I’m challenging myself to actively try one new thing a week both personally and professionally. The personal has been nothing too exciting (I drove a different way… what a rebel!), but the professional has been a lot of fun because it’s resulted in me making a return to creating videos this week. The eagle-eyed among you may have seen I published my first YouTube video in about five months and it’s a mini version of the podcast episode, pulling out the key points so as to help viewers rapidly get their heads around the topic and dip their toe in the water in terms of a few quick things they can do to start working on it. As Spotify has recently launched video podcasts I’ve also added it to there, which is probably where many of you would have seen it, and I’m going to keep on testing the water for a few weeks and see how I feel about it. My main purpose is to have fun with it and also help people quickly access the high-level topic information, so we’ll see how it goes.

This week I’m encouraging you to think about simple things you try and do to mix it up, no matter how small they may seem. Let me know how you go in the comments!

So without any further ado… greetings and salutations, and a very warm welcome to another newsletter. I hope you enjoy my quick snapshot of my favourite things this week — hopefully at least one of them will make you smile/feel inspired. Have a fantastic week!

Jeremy 🙂
