Hello Talkers! 👋🗣😃
Well, after a much-needed couple of weeks off I am back at it again and feeling refreshed. And busily planning my next break so I don’t have a repeat of making myself feel exhausted!
One week turned out not to be enough and I had to take a couple of weeks off from my podcast for the first time in ages, and it’s reminded me of the importance of proactively scheduling time away from work in order to proactively manage your wellbeing and avoid burnout. With that in mind, I’m going to be taking three full weeks off at the end of the year and there will be two weeks where I don’t release podcasts. Plus I’ve made some decisions about my YouTube channel; read more about that below.
So without any further ado… greetings and salutations, and a very warm welcome to another newsletter. I hope you enjoy my quick snapshot of my favourite things this week — hopefully at least one of them will make you smile/feel inspired. Have a fantastic week!
Jeremy 🙂

Podcast back on October 30: I am very happy to confirm that Episode 153: Let’s Talk About… Self Compassion is coming on Sunday. Looking forward to hearing what you think about it!
YouTube break: I am taking a break from my YouTube channel until February 2023, which I’ll be announcing in my podcast this Sunday (October 30). The short version is that there is just SO much involved in writing/producing/editing/promoting that I didn’t have enough time to give my 100% focus to my other work, and it led me to work ridiculous hours so something had to give. I’ll revisit the channel in the new year and decide how to proceed from there.
Medianet article: Here’s a piece written about my work/the podcast recently by Medianet which I feel both honoured by and humbled by. Thanks to Aimee Edwards for writing this! https://www.medianet.com.au/blog/outlet-spotlight-lets-talk-about-mental-health-podcast (opens in new window)
😊 My Favourite Inspiring Posts Recently:
💯 My absolute favourite things this week:
This is exactly what happened to me recently… beware, because it can creep up on you unexpectedly if you’re not vigilant about protecting your time and headspace!
People make choices about how they treat others, whether consciously or subconsciously, and you can choose whether to allow that or put a stop to it. Someone’s past trauma or pain is not an excuse to mistreat others, and it’s not a reason for you to allow it. Love this post by Nedra Glover Tawwab (to be fair, I love all of her posts!).

So glad you are feeling well rested and have booked in your next break Jeremy! I took the opportunity to buy your book while you were off. Not out of desperation missing your dulcet Aussie tones, but because I have so valued the fruits of your labour over the last couple of years and wanted to show my support. For me this has included many significant life events including a global pandemic (obvs), getting married, a ton of family drama, being diagnosed with a chronic disease, buying a house, and now having a baby! Through it all the podcast has been invaluable in helping me make decisions about my life and values…so THANK YOU! Please continue to take care of yourself, you absolute diamond!
Hi Gina! Thanks so much for the lovely message and congratulations on all of the wonderful things that have been going on, including having a baby! 😃 I am very grateful to hear that you’ve been enjoying my content and finding it helpful, so thank you very much and I wish you all the very best. And only two days to go until you can hear my dulcet tones again 😁😂 Have a great week/weekend!
