Hello Talkers! 👋🗣😃

Welcome to another week!

This week my mind is on creating space for yourself.

So, how do you look after your emotional wellbeing? Let me know in the comments! Which is also effectively about being kinder to yourself. Let me explain.

We had an 8-day heatwave, with temperatures at or above 35C (about 95F), and of course on day one of the heatwave my car’s air conditioning decided to stop working for the second time in less than four months. Considering that I drive my partner to and from work every day, I have been doing a lot of driving around in what has felt like a mobile oven even with the windows down. Unfortunately the make of car that I have, which I purchased back in the city in 2011, does not have a local service outlet and so it’s a 3-hour round trip to get it looked at. So, you can imagine how happy I’ve been (not very).

My point is this: when things are happening that are frustrating, and especially when they are out of your control, it’s essential to make space for yourself to feel what you need to feel and to also stop judging yourself so harshly for feeling some type of way. Of course I’m frustrated; I just had the thing repaired in late October and now it’s doing it again! On the bright side, it means my partner is finally open to a conversation about a new car…

So today I’d like to encourage you to think about how you can create space for yourself and allow yourself to feel what needs to be felt so that you can then move forward, since resistance is futile (or at least that’s what the Borg told us in Star Trek).

So without any further ado… greetings and salutations, and a very warm welcome to another newsletter. I hope you enjoy my quick snapshot of my favourite things this week — hopefully at least one of them will make you smile/feel inspired. Have a fantastic week!

Jeremy 🙂

PS: Thank you for all the lovely messages about this week’s episode covering self-harm; it was an emotional topic for me and tough to release it but I’m glad I did.
