Hello Talkers! 👋🗣😃
This is my penultimate newsletter for 2022 (I love that there’s a word for ‘second last’ and I use it as often as possible!) and since this week in my podcast I’ve been talking about loss of control, I’ve been thinking a lot about control and just how many things we have to deal with that are so far out of our control that it’s not funny (like the brand-new espresso machine I bought that I was very excited about and which today I have discovered makes terrible coffee… like, crime-against-nature coffee; lucky I didn’t throw out the box, because it’s going straight back!).
As much as we want to feel like we’re in control all the time, we are only ever in control of what we do and say… and it’s our choices that determine what happens next. Which is comforting when you feel like you may have little or no control, because at least you’re in control of what you do or don’t do, but it can also be frustrating when it’s 5:30am and you just want the darn coffee machine to make you a decent coffee without all of the faff and torment (that coffee machine really did a number on me this morning… nothing and nobody gets between me and my daily caffeine fix!).
So that got me thinking and I was wondering whether or not I’m all alone in being a bit of a control freak… take a moment to vote below and share your thoughts so I can see!
So without any further ado… greetings and salutations, and a very warm welcome to another newsletter. I hope you enjoy my quick snapshot of my favourite things this week — hopefully at least one of them will make you smile/feel inspired. Have a fantastic week!
Jeremy 🙂
