It’s time for another weekly round-up of tips for better mental health! Each week I share a handful of things I’ve come across that I find interesting, intriguing and inspirational, plus I tell you about anything noteworthy that’s coming up on my weekly podcast, Let’s Talk About Mental Health, or just generally in terms of my work. So… let’s talk!

Hello Talkers! 👋🗣😃
I’m quitting YouTube.
And I feel utterly relieved.
No, this is not some dramatic declaration that will turn into me just taking a short break and then coming back. I’m absolutely exhausted by the platform, and I’ve decided that enough is enough for the foreseeable future… so my last regular weekly video will be released on February 25. I’m toying with the idea of doing a short video the following week to explain my reasons for quitting, so that my channel subscribers can see (if they don’t read this newsletter or follow me on socials), but that’s it.
Here’s how I got to the point of total clarity in making this decision: it was doing more harm than good to my peace of mind. And it was eating up 1-1.5 days a week at the same time. I have a lot on over the next few months, and something had to give… so it may as well be the thing that’s making me feel miserable!
To answer the question I posed as the title of today’s newsletter, I think it’s as simple as this: if something is doing you harm, either change it or chuck it. In this case, I’ve tried to change it but it hasn’t been successful… so it’s time to chuck it. Life is too short to waste it stressing yourself out or allowing something to make you feel miserable. It’s just not worth it.
So here’s my tip of the week: Is there anything in your life that’s causing you harm or making you feel miserable? Let it go. Your mental health will thank you for it!
Until our next talk,
Jeremy 😃

Hi Jeremy,
Im a bit sad that your you tube won’t continue, but for me, your podcast is my #1 ‘must have’.
I listen (& re-listen) to full or part podcast episodes every day.
thankyou for all the you tube videos you’ve done… they will still be a great resource to rewatch.

Thanks so much Jo, I really appreciate that! 😃
You’re living what you teach, and I appreciate and applaud that. I’ve been enjoying your podcasts on Spotify, working my way through them from the beginning. You often comment how you’ve said something a thousand times before, but I find the repetition just what I need for things to sink in more and more deeply. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and yourself with us.
Thank you very much! I am fortunate enough to receive a lot of nice messages, but I swear that was the nicest one I’ve received in ages. Thank you! ☺️
